Very happy with this jacket. I’m 5”8”, 170lbs, 43 inch chest, and the XL fits nicely. Didn’t want a jacket to be too tight.. No complaints. Thank you, Schott.

I ordered this online but not before being able to try on various sizes at the Los Angeles store. Usually I’m more confident in my sizing but the other reviews made me think twice.

I’m about 6ft2in 185 lbs, 42 inch chest and wear size 33/32 waist jeans.

When I tried on a size Large, it was really tight in the shoulders and chest to the point I couldn’t lift my arms without the entire jacket going with it but fit well in the waist. When I put on the XL, it fit well in the shoulders/chest but was a little loose in the waist. I chose to buy size XL despite Large being my usual size. If the room in the waist really bothers me, I may have the jacket tailored later on. Not sure if Schott offers that outside of arm length adjustments though.

I think the intent behind this jacket is to buy your true size then break it in so it stretches to fit. Problem is, I’m not willing to risk nearly $1000 breaking in a jacket for a year hoping it will eventually fit only for it not to. The templates being used to make this jacket might need to be re designed as the jacket just seems to be one size off.

I'm always a perfect men's large in every jacket I've worn for decades, and the Schott website recommended a men's large based on my physical makeup. I get the jacket (and it's truly beautiful!) , and it is AT BEST a men's medium, if not small, I could barely zip it with only a t-shirt on, and I had zero range of motion. Was obviously disappointed and going to send it back, but my girlfriend loved it and tried it, and it fit her perfectly - so she has a new leather jacket, and I don't have to go through the hassle of sending it back. That's a win. I don't know about their other jackets, but this one runs absurdly small - if you are a large, get at least an XL. Kind of disappointed even though my girlfriend is thrilled! Don't know if I'll order another, I have to think about it. Beautiful jacket though, bummer.

In the fashion world, it is said gentleman of a certain age should ”never” wear a leather jacket. Schott s’ cafe racer has proved them wrong….. Like myself, the jacket looks weathered yet classy, edgy but refined, and retro with a modern touch. It is a clean sturdy jacket that can be worn on the road, at a rock concert or just a night out. Love this jacket and as I wear it I ask: does this jacket make me look good or do I make this jacket look good. This will be the dilemma for all potential buyers. Best of all, it’s made in the USA. The price is not cheap but you get what you pay for… a beautifully well crafted jacket designed for lifetime use.

When I was deciding which size to purchase - I read every single review, to support Schott sizing recommendations. It helped a little, but ultimately I still had to return 2 jackets, to get the right one back. I am 6' 200 pounds with 41" chest. My upper body is balanced with legs, jeans size being 34 slim, with 31 inseam. Suit jacket: 42R slim cut. This jacket in XL fit perfectly even if it left a bit more room in the gut area, but not too much. Love the vintage look. Quality craftsmanship through and through. Love the heritage of this brand and it adds another dimension to owning this piece. Usually, when I find the jacket that fits me well - the sleeves are a bit longer than i'd like. Not on this one.

I liked it so much, that I went to purchase another model for 2-3 season wear, including summer. Review of this jacket will be posted under that particular model.

Warmly recommended - excellent value for the price

This my third Schott jacket which is 654VN 2XL in Dark Brown, it is a great fit and soft leather. The delivery is indeed very fast got it after 3 days only from US to HK.
I'm a 6'0" tall and 265 lbs, My first Schott jacket is model 618 & second Jackets is 519 all in size 2XL. They are all perfectly fit my body build.
Schott got the best quality made and best workmanship of jackets ever made, worth the price. They last for long years even your grandson would enjoy them for sure.

Solid, well made, runs small as I am only 5'8" and 145lb and a large is just big enough. Takes a good bit of break in despite it being "vintaged". Simple and clean design is appealing. Not too much metal. Hefty feel so I would not call it lightweight.

This jacket is exactly what I was looking for. The leather is excellent. Beautiful finish and not shiny. It takes about six to ten hours of wear to full break in. It's a slimmer fit. I am 6' 2" and weigh 175 lbs (slim but not skinny). I usually wear a medium in just about everything, but the large fit perfectly. You might need to size up for the 654Vn. It's not too heavy. I live in a warmer climate (rarely gets below 40 degrees), and I will wear it for three seasons (not summer).

Plain and simple right? You are on this website cause you know it’s quality. You’re looking at this jacket cause you know, even though it’s s a lot of money. It’s going to probably be enjoyed by some one you pass it down to. It’s built that well. If you’re looking for a slim fit, size down a size. But keep in mind, it’s going to be a labor of love breaking it in

Got this jacket last week. It is my second Schott jacket. Very minimalistic and sleek. Have it in the brown color. Is a bit tighter than my other Schott despite same size, which is in keeping with reviews. But think the streamline fit looks good with this style. I am 6‘0“, 175 lbs with 40 inch chest. Is good with t-Shirt or a button up, but not able to wear sweater (but with this style wouldn’t want to anyway) Any tighter and would for sure go up to large. Definitely looking forward to some cooler weather to wear it. Have my eye on the 2B3 now for the winter.

Got it in brown, wonderful colors and feel of the leather. Not as stiff or as heavy as I was expecting. Nice lining too.

I've tried on multiple brands while looking for a leather jacket and could immediately tell the difference in quality when I tried on a Schott. It fits great, looks even better and now I cant wait to get another one!

This jacket is exactly what I was looking for. The Schott quality is as good as it gets. Timeless style that looks way cooler when you put it on than the dorky model on the website wears it. This is the classic cafe racer jacket you want. I would recommend up-sizing one size bigger than they list on their size chart unless you have a really small frame or narrow shoulders. I'm 6'1" and needed to swap up to an XL after the website recommended Large. The waist length is fairly short compared to most normal jackets so it feels sort of weird at first but it's right for a leather. Overall you're going to be stoked if you get this jacket!

I’ve been on a search for an awesome leather jacket for quite a while. My search is finally over. This jacket is perfect for me on many aspects: Toughness, cut and look. It’s pricier than some but 100% worth it.

I picked up this jacket recently at the Schott store in SF. This is my second Schott jacket and again the quality is top-notch. The "vintaged" leather has a nice broken in feel and more of a matte finish. I was initially torn between this style and the 530 cafe racer with the front pocket and bi-swing back. I ultimately picked the 654VN since it had a better fit and seemed more practical for day-to-day things. I also really liked the classic, clean look of it and the nod to the 1950s English cafe racer history.
6'1", ~220lbs and 43" chest and went with XL (with room to layer underneath).

Just received the Jacket few days ago. I choose the size Small and it's perfect for me with 36" chest. The jacket has a soft outer skin, nice skin feeling and great smell. If you have a slim body, I think it is a great jacket for you.

5'7", 134 lbs, size XS. First, I never ever thought I'd be able to pull off a leather jacket. But when I found this in a men's boutique and tried it on, it was perfect (so thankful they have this in an XS). I saved up my money and did more research and finally bought it just before the holidays. If you go to a store, you'll be able to try on several, which you should because each jacket will fit differently. This style is more minimalist but vintage treatment so it's perfect if you want a more fit, softer finish. Because of that, you can dress it up or down, and it's perfect for men of a slimmer build. Amazing craftsmanship, gorgeous leather, and excellent fit. I get compliments daily and will wear it daily!

I had an issue though early on with the jacket and the customer service was so responsive, helpful, and courteous. The warranty is one thing: excellent customer service is another. This is the most beautiful piece of clothing I own and I'll have it for years.

I wanted a jacket that I could have forever, and someday pass on as an heirloom -- I believe this will stand the test of time, and look badass in the meantime. Incredible quality and a pretty good fit for being non-custom.

This jacket should bear the "Perfecto" label, cause it is.

Listen, this jacket is uber-cool, but you already know that. When you put it on it feels good, real good, like total validation good. Schott delivered the goods and it is workmanship like this that reminds one that Made in the USA can still be world class. Anything worth having is worth paying for and while this jacket is not for everyone, for me, it was worth the price.

I'm 5'7" and 155 lbs. and the jacket fits great not over-sized in the arms or chest and the length is just about perfect (states 25" inches but on every other jacket is say 26" so I'm really not sure) as it comes down to just above my jeans front pockets. But I have to say I'm surprised with the sizing/fitting though the website did recommend this size so they nailed it.

All materials are outstanding, especially, of course, the leather!!! Some people quibble about the side pocket zippers...only time will tell; they certainly look cool and go w/the jacket. My only quibble is I wish my sleeves were a tad shorter, maybe 1 inch, but that's it, otherwise perfect!

When you put this jacket on you feel like a different person it's"transformative," like a suit of armor or flak jacket, and you look BAD. Now your are the envy of all your lame friends...LOL.

Fit, craftsmanship, and feel are all spectacular. Exactly as I am coming to expect from Schott. Nicely done.

I think this jacket will last awhile with a style that is classic and trend proof. The jacket is pretty thick which lends to the tighter fit. The fit is narrow overall, but especially in the shoulders with longish sleeves. Based on my typical jacket/suit size the Schott Size Finder said get a large. I am a proportionally wide in the chest and shoulders compared to my waist and arm length so I could barely zip it up. The exchange process online was super quick and easy to get a larger size. If you are on the slim side it will likely fit. If you have a little bulk you probably want to go with larger sizing.

The most comfy, ventilated, and spacious jackets i have ever owned. I never thought I would ever make a drunk mistake that actually turned out better than a sober one. this thing was like $800 at Stag Men's Supplies and I will never regret this purchase.

Amazing jacket. I'm 5'11", 175lbs, 30in waist, ~40 jacket, and a 15.5"/34" shirt. The jacket is a little roomy at the waist, but otherwise fits like a dream. Even the sleeves. I have the large.

Just want to say this jacket is fantastic! As far as the fit, I'm 5'7" with a 44" chest. It's a little tight across the shoulders, but it should stretch given time. I did have to get the sleeves shortened, but it's that way with me with everything. Definitely my new favorite!

To help others on size, I am 5'8, 165 lbs and purchased the 654vn in brown - medium. My shirt size is 16 neck and 32/33 sleeve. I wear a 39/40 suit jacket. For this style jacket, the length is perfect. Not too short, which I was concerned about. The sleeves are perfect. This is a fitted jacket and fits like one, but within reason. Great with a tee shirt or light weight button up. The quality is beautiful and this is my second jacket. I have a black weekender in a 38 since its a fuller cut jacket. Enjoy-

I have been looking for the perfect leather jacket for several years now. I have owned Levi's, Rembrandt, Rodd & Gun, Barker's, Hallensteins and Burberry. I saw Schott on a documentary somewhere about products that are still made in USA and came to learn about their jackets. Went on Schott NYC website and looked around the leather jackets section and finally decided on the 654VN. Ordered it through Army Navy 1st USA Leather Co., and all I could say upon wearing it for the first time, THE SEARCH IS OVER!!! The worksmanship and quality is exceptional. Like most Schott owners would say, Schott Jackets are a work of art, every single one of 'em!!! I am 5'9", 175lbs with 36" waist and the 654VN Large (Brown) was made for me. The Color, Texture and Smell of the Leather - PERFECTION!!!!

First, the fit. I am 5'11" and weigh 190. I have a 34" waist. I got the Large and the fit is close to perfect. Just a tad loose at the waist but only a tad.
Second, the leather is soft and has the perfect amount of wear on it. Doesn't look new and it doesn't look 40 years old or fake...I have the Black and it is the perfect tone.

The jacket is ready to wear and it feels and looks great. I have jackets from Cockpit that I haven't gotten worn in after 6 months of owning them, still stiff as a board.

I can honestly say my next leather jacket will be a Schott for sure..
