641 HH

This is a beautiful jacket and fits perfectly . I am 5’10” with chest size 35 and got the size 36.as suggested on the Schott site as I was in between sizes. Very happy with the fit. Although I think that I would be able to fit into a size 34 for a tighter fit but I don’t think I will be able to layer up underneath without some restrictions. With a 36, I can easily layer up with a sweatshirt comfortably.
Overall very happy with the purchase!

Amazing

This jacket is amazing. It fits perfect. Shipping was really really fast. The quality and craftsmanship is outstanding. I usually wear a medium (38-40) so I could have gone with a size 40 leaving little room for layering long sleeve shirts and sweaters for late fall, winter and early spring so I went with a size up to 42. The only thing I would say about the jacket is the smell. Its new car leather smell and not traditional leather smell. That is probably due to they type of tanning process used on the horsehide. I also make small leather goods and can appreciate the work put into this jacket. I'm looking forward to purchasing other styles of jackets in the future from Schott.

Perfect fit

Fit was spot on. It's still a little stiff but I can tell the horsehide leather is following my body shape nicely.

JUST GOT MY 641HH!!

I've been debating getting this jacket because I have had the 689H for several years which is basically the identical jacket except for the inside pockets and the collars.
It is made of beautiful black STIFF and HEAVY horsehide but I was ready for that. I broke my 689H in by wearing it while I watch TV in the evenings (yes, I am single). It is so comfortable now and I love to wear it.
I am 5'11" 210lbs and I got the 641HH in the same size as my 689H (46), the fit is actually a little better in that it is a tiny bit smaller which I was hoping for. Sleeve length, shoulder width and waist is perfect, probably the best fitting jacket I have ever bought from Schott.
I do ride and while I love the 689H, I sometimes have a problem with the bottom of my helmet getting caught on the collar of the 689H which is another reason to buy the 641HH (always looking for another reason to buy another Schott jacket lol).
So, bottom line, it is another beautiful, well-made jacket from Schott that I am very happy with. Considering the high quality workmanship and materials, it is a bargain for the price!! IMO Schott makes the best leather jackets on the planet!

Bought a size 40. Perfect slim fit. Can comfortably wear over a long sleeve cashmere polo and can also easily fit over a M65 liner. Absolutely great jacket.

This horsehide jacket is a keeper!

I appreciate the quality materials and craftsmanship, and I'm happy to put in the time to break it in knowing it will last a lifetime – and even be something I can pass down. It might not be for everyone, but if you value true quality and don't mind a break-in period, this jacket is worth it.

Exceeded Expectations - 641HH

WHOA! I recently purchased the Classic Schott Racer (Horsehide), and I couldn’t be happier! From the moment I put it on, it felt exactly as described. The leather is heavy, stiff, and incredibly durable enough to withstand daily wear. The shine gives it a sleek, modern look that stands out in any crowd.

I had my wife measure my chest and it was 50 inches, but I wasn’t sure about that. I kept redoing the “calculations” and all I can say now is that the fit is perfect, and it doesn't feel restrictive. The attention to detail is evident in the stitching and the quality of the zippers and buttons. It’s clear that this jacket was crafted with care and precision.

Overall, this jacket actually exceeded my expectations in every way. I know I will be wearing it for many years to come. Highly recommended!

Strange

I couldn’t wait to receive my brand new 641HH and when I did I couldn’t wait to start wearing it.
After about 3 weeks I started to notice something was off. I noticed that the right side of the jacket wasn’t like the left side. The right side is completely broken in and soft and the left side is as stiff as the day I got it. When I sit down the left shoulder wants to ride on my ear while the is where it’s supposed to be. I applied Leather Honey to the left side multiple times to get it to match the right but to no avail The right side shines more. I’m for certain that as I continue to patina the jacket through daily wear it will not look right. Pretty bummed.

Great jacket

Fit was great. Love the look of the horsehide. Stiff, but can tell the jacket will be like a second skin when broken in.

Tough As Nails

I have one of these I bought used- this is a jacket Schott has offered for some time now. The horsehide is several steps above cowhide, It’s super tough and I imagine that, from new the break-in period is a long one.

I actually had a crash wearing my 641HH. I rolled and slid along the asphalt as I came to a stop- the jacket has some mild scuffs on it but was fine other than that!

I love this “cafe racer” style. The jacket fits snugly at the hip but feels good overall. Schott’s customer service is great too. These jackets are not inexpensive but they sure are built to last. Schott jackets are without question heirloom quality. You can wear it all your life then hand it down to the next generation!

Thank You Schott!! could not be happier with my racer jacket

Awesome Quality product as expected, can't wait to break it in. It was dispatched immediately. after being purchased.

25% tax over CIF cost. Think about having a retailer or Schott shop in Chile, Latin America. It might be worth it. Thank you! Best Regards

This jacket is awesome! Looks better in person than on the website. Feels good and should break in nicely. I also have the 618HH and it is more stiff than this jacket. I recommend this jacket for anyone who wants to look like a stud.

Quality jacket, still squeaks

So I’ve waited 4 years to write a review on this jacket and want to say that I love it but I don’t and there are 2 reasons after 4 years that I don’t. But first I will go into the positive, this is a durable and quality made jacket that will outlive me for sure. I’ve worn this jacket almost every day for the past 4 years riding my motorcycle here in the Bay Area of CA so it’s definitely gotten it’s use and is broken in. It has a beautiful patina on 3/4 of the jacket yet the left front panel still looks like rubber or vinyl whereas the rest of the jacket has the horsehide grain really showing through. It does feel like a second skin and has molded to my body well, it feels great on.

Im 6’1.5”, 41’ chest, 32’ waist and 165 lbs, tall fit and slender. The jacket fits great though I do wish I had another inch or more in the sleeves for cold mornings or nights but with a long sleeved layer underneath and good gloves this hasn’t really been an issue of cold wrists. It’s served me well as a motorcycle jacket for the past 4 years and in some ways I’ll be sad to let it go but for me there are 2 reasons that I will most likely sell this and start over with a new jacket, maybe another Schott, maybe try a Johnson’s made out here in the SF Bay, not sure yet.

The 2 reasons I am unsatisfied with with jacket is after 4 years of wearing almost daily on my motorcycle is still squeaks with every movement I make and I would expect that to remain for another 4-6 years and I just don’t want to wear a squeaky jacket that long. The second reason I’m unsatisfied with this jacket is 3/4 of it has a beautiful horsehide patina, all except the left front 1/4 which still looks like rubber or vinyl and it’s very obvious at this point, my jacket almost looks like I had the left front piece replaced and the rest of the jacket has a beautiful patina, again this is after 4 years of daily use. The only other thing is the right wrist zip pull tab has broken off recently as well. The zipper sill works so it’s not a big deal to me. If the jacket didn’t squeak so much and if the left front didn’t look so obviously off from the rest of the jacket this would be a 5 star jacket.

For me this just wasn’t the right jacket though the quality and craftsmanship are great and this jacket will definitely outlive me I have no doubts about that. If you don’t mind a squeaky jacket that may age in a strange way this might be the best jacket you’ve ever bought. If you prefer your jackets not to squeak after they’ve been broken in and worn consistently over a period of 4 years you may want to check out a different jacket.

I will end by saying that the quality and craftsmanship of Schott’s is top of the line and this jacket feels amazing.

Nice jacket, still squeaks

I’ve held off on writing a review for 4 years as I broke the jacket jacket in and mostly I love this jacket. I live in the Bay Area of CA and wear my jacket most every day of the year riding my motorcycle to work and for fun. This is my first “real” leather jacket and first horsehide jacket. As a personal preference in the future I will not buy horsehide again, after 4 years of wearing it most every day it still squeaks terribly that is why I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars. Other than that this jacket is great, fits like a glove and truly feels like a second skin. After 4 years of constant wear though I would expect the squeak to go away.

Great well-fitting rider jacket

A very nice constructed jacket, made in USA cannot go wrong.
I especially crave for horsehide for its flair and its obvious ruggedness, and everything from snugs to zips radiate the top-notch gears used by the company.
Not very unbiased but I do really favor Schott jackets to any other ones (although during last decade, many newcomers from USA and Japan came into the Game).

Nice f_____g jacket

Can’t say more about the jacket.
Finish, style, quality……all top notch. People with no knowledge of Schott or leathers need only look and touch the jacket. They immediately know that it is a fine article of clothing.
5’ 10”, 175lbs, weightlifter. Size 40 suit jacket that has become slightly small.
16” neck. 40” measured chest with 34” arms. 31/32” waist. Prefer a loose snug fit.
My broken in several years old size 42 618 fits great…perfect.
Recently purchased the 641HH size 40.
With a T-shirt, in general, it is a tight snug fit and tight around biceps, With a hoodie very tight all over….hoodie sleeves drift up when putting on jacket. Sleeve length is perfect.
Approx 1” spread between front unzipped upper chest panels when standing with no folds or peaks/valleys across all panels. Currently obsessing that fit is too snug and want to upsize to a “41”. Will probably head over to the Elizabeth shop.
40 vs 42. Stretch or no stretch. that is the question.

True to Size, Buy It For Life Quality

Sizing is spot on, just the way I like it to fit, I didn’t size up as I wanted a fitted fit. Perfect for a t shirt and a bit snug when I wear a medium thick hoodie. The armhole could be bigger but then it would restrict arm movement.

I’m 5’11”, weighs 162lbs, 38.5” chest, 32” waist, 18” shoulder, a size 38 fits like the catalog pictures.

I was worried about the waist being to tapered, but when it arrived, it’s simply perfect, I’m glad that I didn’t size up!

The quality is phenomenal, it will last a life time for sure! I hope my son wouldn’t be bigger than me when he’s grown up and I’ll hand it to him when I’m older. The jacket stands on its own, feels super hard but in an amazing way, I can’t wait to break it in.

Besides, it smells great, you can tell it’s tanned in a nice way unlike most leather jacket you can find from malls, smells like chemical and sharp to the nose. The horsehide almost smells like butter.

I don’t ride anymore as I have 2 young kids, I will start riding again when they turn 18. I just like the look of this jacket paired with my black 14oz selvedge denim. I highly recommend this jacket as it’s the highest quality clothing I have ever touched.

after 100+ hours of wear

this piece is a rugged, beautifully-constructed juggernaut. now that i have over 100 hours of wear, I feel qualified to compose a review. as advertised the horsehide takes some time to break in, but this jacket is more and more comfortable with every use. the jacket is a dark gloss in color, in the sunlight it almost shines. the lining is smooth and warm for cold or brisk days. i was advised to purchase an XL, and the fit is perfect. my favorite jacket, I highly recommend.
thanks

Best Jacket Ever

The jacket is top notch. Really great quality. It is a little stiff, but started softening a little after a week of wear. The fit is good.. I’m 5’11” athletic build—normally wear a 44 in jacket. I bought a size 44 since I wanted it snug and the size was pretty much spot on. Length, shoulder and chest are just right. Bicep is a little tight on the first try, but have relaxed slightly over a week wear. Completely happy with the jacket.

Great Jacket

I have owned various Schott jackets through the years and have to say there is a reason this company has been around for 100 years. The quality of materials and workmanship is clearly noticed when you pick one up.

I have 5 Schott jackets and like this one the best. Will enjoy breaking this one in. 6’1” 230 46” chest and purchased size 48. Enough room to add layers underneath. Length in body and sleeves perfect. Sleeves are long which I like for motorcycle riding.

Customer for life

Lots of people can sell you a jacket but not everybody can sell you a Schott.
And not many companies provide their level of customer service.
Calling their jackets ‘Perfecto’ is not superfluous.
It’s the way they make their jackets and the way they do business.
