I have the Schott sunset back delivery jacket and the lightweight unlined trucker in brown both size XL and wanted something that was a bit different that could be a staple piece I went with the and XXL for this jacket since I wanted something with a bit more space/ casual I’m 6’3” 260lb powerlifter/weightlifter and this jacket did not disappoint I may order it in brown as well.

Fantastic quality, my fourth NY Schotts jacket!
However, being a stickler for design and detail, the zipper color brings the jacket down and makes it bland looking. I am having it changed w you to a vintage looking brass style which will change the look and give it that little but crucial detail that makes the jacket!

Really great jacket, super high quality, no notes. Large fits great (6’2, 185 lb, athletic build).

Great jacket, but probably should have gotten heavyweight similar jacket.

Greatest jacket ever

For starters I'm 5'10 and 180lb and I went with the medium. Fit like a glove and the first time I tried it on, I knew it was higher quality than I ever had. before I also knew that from the first time I picked it up and felt how heavy it is. This thing is a tank and I'm excited to see how it ages. I must have tried on 20 different jackets at the store and the 562 was the exact style I wanted.

BUY ONCE CRY ONCE

Schott leather jackets aren't cheap. They are, however, worth every penny. I bought the 562 a year ago, it is the most well made jacket I have ever owned. For sizing info, I am 6'2", 215, I bought an XL which fits me perfectly.

Finally, No Disappointments At All!

From placing my order, through the exchange, and reception of the Best Leather Jacket available anywhere. I'm very pleased with Schott's ethics, professionalism and efficiency during the entire process. The leather quality, the fit, the lining, the weight......literally everything is Superb! I'll be back.

THE ONE

Smitten with this jacket. The fit nails that more laid-back, casual look I wanted with nice drape and enough breathing room in the sleeves to throw a layer underneath for versatile temps. The plaid lining on its own offers light insulation and is super comfortable in those transitions months between summer and winter.

I think bi swing backs are underrated as it brings that little bit of added mobility that helps the jacket disappear, in the best way. The cowhide is surprisingly soft and supple, requiring no break-in period to mold to your movements, all the while feeling hefty and durable.

It's also a total looker that I've received many compliments on. The sheen is subtle, not overly glossy, and contrasts nicely against the pebbled texture. Absolute class.

For reference I'm 6'2" and 195lbs and I went for the Large.

Awesome Jacket

I believe the Style 562 fills an important niche in the Schott lineup of leather jackets. It's ideal for someone seeking a high quality black leather jacket with a clean classic look, minus the oversized lapels, extra straps, and buckles that are prominent on other designs. And I don't ride a motorcycle, so I don't need super thick stiff leather for protection, but I still want the leather to feel substantial. The 562 is 100% cowhide that is soft to the touch and flexible, but has a good thickness. Every time I lift the jacket off the hanger, the solid weight of the garment reminds me that this is the real deal.

At the $250 - $300 price point what I saw from most online retailers was disappointing "genuine leather", a material made from cheap processed leather scraps with lots of binders that will not patina like real cowhide. There are also well known fashion retailers that offer a somewhat similar style leather jacket for a $600 - $700 price point, but I found the leather was not substantial enough, and often made from thin lamb skin rather than the thick cowhide I wanted. It was a no brainer for me to order the Schott 562 which checked all of the boxes for me.

The description on the website calls the 562 a "weekender jacket", and that is how I plan to wear it once the weather cools down. I have plenty of performance fleece and Goretex type jackets in my closet, but those jackets always felt more suitable for outdoor recreation activities. A nice leather jacket with a clean simple design can be worn to casual social events with jeans, but can also be worn with nice slacks for a more dressed up appearance in lieu of a sport coat.

I am 6' tall, 165 lbs, wear a 42R suit jacket, 32 waist. Dress shirt size 15-1/2 x 34. I ordered the Medium size which fit me perfectly. This jacket is a regular fit, so it is not as tightly tapered through the torso like some of the other styles. The fit is not too tight, yet not too loose. The Schott online assistant I was chatting with sent me a cut sheet that contained all of the important measurements like shoulder width, sleeve length, chest, etc. I went and measured a few jackets in my closet with a tape measure for sake of comparison and decided Medium would fit me best. The bi-swing feature at the shoulders definitely helps with arm mobility, especially forward reach.

I couldn't be more pleased with my 562 jacket.

Great Jacket

So I came to the LA store a few days ago looking for this style but not sure on what jacket or type of leather to get. This was by far the best fit and feel for me. I absolutely love it and it definitely won’t be the last jacket I buy from Schott. Also I can’t fault the LA staff. They were amazing. So helpful.

It doesn't get better than this!

Honestly, all the Schott jackets are wonderful. I went to the NYC store multiple times, trying on everything and struggled to pick one. However, when I tried on the 562, I knew it was the right one. The size small (on my 150 lb, 5'7 frame) was as close as I can get to a custom fit jacket... fit me perfectly!
